How Glocal Content Marketing Helps International Brands Stay Local

How Glocal Content Marketing Helps International Brands Stay Local

Localization technology is the modern secret to building a global brand's local staying power. Learn about what it means to be "glocal" here.

How to Build a Global Brand (7 Shortcuts I’m Using to Build My Brand Internationally)

If you want to be a big company, you have to build a big global brand. But how do you do that without spending hundreds of millions of dollars like some of these companies? Today I’m going to break down seven shortcuts to becoming a global brand. And best of all, you won’t have to spend tons of money.

So are you ready to build a global brand? Here are the seven facts that you need to know, to succeed and you have to follow these.

Fact number one, you need a blog.

I recommend that you blog at least once a week and keep in mind it’s all about the headline, if you’re looking for really good catchy headlines just Google Copyblogger headline formula they have quite a few that you can use. Don’t sell first, just educate, write in a conversational tone using the words you or I in sentences, use sub-headings so people can skim.

I also recommend that you keep your paragraphs short to around five, six lines max. And spend 80% of your time promoting, I know that sounds crazy I’m not talking about promoting your business like selling your products I’m talking about spend 20% of your time writing content, 80% of the time promoting the content like getting it shared on the social web, outreaching, getting people to link to you.

Fact number two, you have to take a omni-channel approach if you want to build a brand. Marketing is moving to omni-channel approach.

Fact number three, you need to be yourself. When you’re building a brand, whether it’s a corporate brand or even personal, you’re not someone else. But you got to be yourself plan to your strengths.

Fact number four, videos is the quickest way to build a brand, think of a popular personal brand, who are you thinking of? Now, whoever you’re thinking of you didn’t Google to find them you probably have seen them on TV or some sort of video. And that’s why I love YouTube, YouTube just drives so much traffic.

So 10 quick ways to skyrocket your YouTube views.

One, research keywords, you can use Uber suggest for this typing keywords, pick the ones that are popular. Two, use catchy headlines you can use tools like or more so Google Copyblogger headline formula to find headline formulas and variations of headlines that you can use for YouTube. Use those keywords within your videos, within your texts, push people to subscribe to your video. So when they start or when you’re starting your video always tell people to subscribe, make your videos at least five minutes, I ideally recommend that you make them closer to 10 minutes, leverage email s so whenever you publish a video email it out to your audience, use social media to promote your content, use SRT files and you can get them from places like and then hook people. Start with the awesome, amazing hook that’s like, oh really, I didn’t know that! Let me keep listening to find out more. And always ask for comments at the end of your videos.

Fact number five, you need to get personal to build a personal brand. What’s the best way to build a personal brand? It’s to build a connection with someone else. And when you build that connection you’re going to do extremely well.

Fact number six, repurposing gets you more mileage. So I take a lot of my content and I repurpose it and that’s what you’ll see with all my images and thus what they have in common. I’ll take them, push them everywhere, repurpose it with quotes, tell people to double tap. That model is easy because you can use the same videos or images all over all your social channels and get those likes and shares.

In fact number seven, you have to put in time. If you look at, Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Jordan, Michael Thomps they didn’t get great at what they did by just going out and just expecting it to all work they put in a lot of time and effort, the amount of time that they spent swimming or playing basketball, or you know, perfecting their business, it was just endless.

The reality is building a brand never stops if you stop, people will start forgetting about you it takes a long time, you need to keep pushing. And something’s better than nothing so do whatever you have, it isn’t a zero sum game.

Look, there are three types of people those that make things happen, those that watch things happen, and those are wondering what just happened. Be the person that makes things happen and grow your brand. I hope you enjoy this and I hope you start building a brand.

What Is CCPA? Everything You Need to Know to Become Compliant

The California Consumer Privacy Act is in effect as of January 1, 2020. So, what now? Here are the next steps and how this affects your marketing campaigns.

Explain Like I’m Five: GDPR Updates & CCPA

Are you still up to date on GDPR, almost a year after it took effect? Plus, a “mini GDPR” is right around the corner. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) will become effective on January 1, 2020. Are you prepared?

In this webinar, data privacy expert Jodi Daniels will explain the GDPR updates and CCPA requirements, and share what these mean for IT and security teams.

Click here to see how BetterCloud supports CCPA compliance:

Questions for Jodi? You can reach her at [email protected] or visit

In this webinar, you’ll learn:

– Guidance on how to interpret GDPR now, a year later
– Requirements for CCPA compliance, and how you can start preparing today
– Common GDPR/CCPA compliance challenges your peers are facing

Jodi Daniels is a digital privacy expert with more than 20 years of experience in privacy, marketing, strategy, and finance roles. She is the founder of Red Clover Advisors, a data privacy consultancy that assists companies with GDPR and CCPA compliance, operationalizing privacy, digital governance, and online data strategy. She most recently served as the privacy partner for digital banking and digital marketing, financial center channel operations, ATMs, and military banking channels at Bank of America.

What is the CCPA? Where does it apply? How do I comply?

00:00 – Intro
00:12 – What is the CCPA’s 12-Month Look-Back Period?
00:50 – Who is Required to Comply with the CCPA?
01:55 – Where does the CCPA Apply?
02:10 – What are the Penalties for Not Complying with the CCPA?
02:48 – How can DPO Adviser help you achieve CCPA Compliance?

On January 1, 2020, companies must comply with California’s new landmark privacy law, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or CCPA as its widely known. Now, why is it important for us to talk about the CCPA today when it doesn’t come into effect until January 1 of 2020?

It’s important because the CCPA contains a 12-month lookback provision which requires businesses to respond to any consumer requests for personal information collected or sold within the past 12 months preceding the consumer’s verifiable request. As a result, companies must maintain accurate records of a consumer’s personal information from January 1, 2019, onward.

Who is required to comply with the CCPA? The CCPA applies to for-profit businesses that do business in California, collect or receive personal information from CA residents, and meet one or more of the following categories:

The first category applies to companies with annual gross revenue of over 25 million dollars. Category two covers companies that annually buy, sell, receive, or share for a commercial purpose the personal information of 50,000 or more consumers, households, or devices, or The third category includes any company that derives 50% or more of its annual revenues from selling consumers’ personal information.

Category two is likely to capture any company that conducts business online or through a mobile application. Take, for example, a company that runs an online blog that receives an average of 150 visitors per day. Over the course of one year, that will add up to more than 50,000 people. If the company’s blog is collecting visitor’s personal information, such as collecting individuals IP addresses or browsing history through the use of cookies, then that company will fall within the scope of the CCPA.

Where does the CCPA apply? The CCPA can be enforced against any organization, anywhere. The act does not require organizations to have a physical presence in California. It merely requires that companies do business in the state and meet one of the three threshold requirements.

What are the Penalties for not complying with the CCPA? The CCPA creates enormous liability for companies that fail to comply. The CCPA allows for fines of up to $2,500 per violation or $7,500 per intentional violation, and the CCPA does not place a cap on the total amount of fines.

To put this in perspective, a CCPA violation affecting 10,000 California consumers can result in a penalty of $25 million for an unintentional violation and up to $75 million for an intentional one. Further, according to a study conducted by IBM, you are more likely to suffer a data breach of at least 10,000 records than you are to catch the flu this winter.

How can DPO Adviser help you achieve CCPA Compliance? At DPO Adviser, we provide comprehensive CCPA compliance solutions and simplify the processes for responding to individual rights requests for personal information. We work to understand client products and services and develop a compliance strategy that decreases risk around personal data and improves that data’s value by making it more transparent, which enables clients to make more effective business decisions. With the 2020 deadline looming, and customer attention to privacy growing, now is the time to get started on a robust CCPA-compliant privacy program. Contact us today to learn more about how we can help your organization achieve CCPA compliance.

While California’s Consumer Privacy Act became law on Jan. 1 2020, many key amendments only just passed—meaning security and privacy pros may still be scrambling to build CCPA-compliant programs. This session will bring together the top CCPA experts to detail the latest on the law, including key amendments, share case studies and research on CCPA preparedness, and give a roadmap for compliance.Pre-Requisites: Attendees should have an intermediate understanding of the privacy landscape today and it’s impact on day-to-day business operations.

11 CCPA Compliance Steps that You Should Take (5 Minutes)

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a privacy law similar to GDPR that went into effect on January 1st, 2020. It afforded California residents the right to opt-out of the selling of their personal data and to know exactly what is collected about them. This privacy law will have ripples throughout the IT community as it will require organizations to track what data they collect and be ready to delete it upon consumer request.

ADA Compliance – Is your website ADA Compliant? If not, you could be fined or sued! Get Compliant!

Is your website ADA Compliant? It’s the Law! Many businesses don’t know about a little known law that states that all business, non-profit and government public website needs to comply with Section 508 of the American With Disabilities Act.

What Is ADA Compliance and What Does It Mean for Your Website?
Is your website following the ADA compliance standards?

Test your website for ADA Compliance:

In 2010, the United States Department of Justice released specific guidelines for all public organizations to follow to become accessible to all people with disabilities. That includes all disabled people that use computers and smart devices.

Becoming ADA compliant is a proactive effort to not only make all organizations inclusive, but by becoming accessible to all people, it’s a proactive way for organizations to grow. If you want to learn more about the ADA compliance standards and what it takes to become ADA compliant, then keep reading.

What Is ADA Compliance?

ADA compliance is short for the Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design. What that means is that all electronic information and technology—i.e, your website—must be accessible to those with disabilities.

ADA compliance is often confused with 508 compliance. However, ADA compliance differs in that it’s more of a civil law that mandates the inclusion of all people, especially those with disabilities, in all areas of public life.

The two compliance regulations also work alongside the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The WCAG, however, is more of a set of formal guidelines used to improve accessibility. The focus of WCAG is primarily HTML accessibility throughout all platforms.

So, to recap, ADA compliance is the civil law that guarantees equal opportunity for disabled individuals in the public spheres of accommodation.

Who Should Follow ADA Requirements?

If all public spheres must adhere to ADA compliance standards, does that mean you do too?

Because ADA applies to all electronic information and technology, i.e., the world wide web and all its websites, ADA compliance applies to virtually all businesses and web developers. To be more specific, ADA compliance applies to the following:

– State and local government organizations
– Private organizations that employee 15 employees or more
– Organizations that work for the public’s benefit (i.e., public transportation, schools, restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, hotels, banks, accountant offices, law offices, social service centers, gyms, healthcare providers, the United States Postal Service, and so on)
– Places of business that would be considered a place of public accommodation (Title III)

Ultimately, all websites should be ADA compliant and inclusive to everyone, even if the ADA standards don’t apply to you and your organization.

Most myths are harmless. But the same can’t be said for most SEO myths. So, we need to bust these common myths and get you focused on tactics and strategies that’ll move the needle.

The first myth we need to debunk is that SEO is dead.

Journalists like to say that many things are dead. These kinds of headlines often lead to opinion editorials that end up being nothing more than clickbait.

SEO is alive and well. How do we know that?

You’ll find out in the video.

The second myth is that Google only ranks “fresh” content.

Does Google rank fresh content? Of course. But Google also ranks content that hasn’t been updated in years.

The thing is: freshness is a query-dependant ranking factor. That means fresh content matters for some search queries, but not so much for others.

Learn how to tell when a query relies on freshness in the video.

The third myth is that duplicate content will get you penalized.

Duplicate content is exact or near-duplicate content that appears on the web in more than one place. But there is no such thing as a duplicate content penalty.

The thing is: Google and its representatives have said on numerous occasions that Google doesn’t have a duplicate content penalty.

But that doesn’t mean duplicate content is good for your site.

Why? Find out in the video (plus, how to find and fix this issue.)

The fourth myth is that SEO is a “set it and forget it” job.

While SEO can lead to free, passive, and consistent traffic that doesn’t fade over time, it doesn’t mean that you can simply rank your pages and call it a day.

SEO is like going to the gym. It’s ok to miss a workout here and there, but you have to go consistently in order to get and maintain those results.

If you choose to ignore all efforts after you’re ranking high, you’ll likely lose backlinks while your competitors are building them. Your content will get stale for queries that rely on a freshness factor.

The fifth myth is that social shares help you rank higher in Google.

It’s reasonable to believe that the more your content gets shared on sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, the higher those pages will rank. But Google’s John Mueller has said that social signals don’t directly impact rankings.

Learn why this myth persists in the video.

The sixth myth is that Pay Per Click Advertising won’t help you rank higher in search.

Paying for ads doesn’t directly influence rankings. Google won’t rank you higher in organic search just because you’re paying them.

But PPC can indirectly help your pages get more backlinks because of increased exposure, just like social shares.

How? Watch the video to find out.

And the final myth we’re busting is that SEO is always about ranking #1.

We all want top Google rankings. But there’s a point where boosting your position for a single keyword may not be worth the required time and effort.
